Please visit my Intro blog post to read about how we found ourselves living in a beautiful country setting, living our dream.
But for more about me? My life changed when I became a mother to our daughter Rhilyn, whom we welcomed on October 6, 2012. I’m candid and open about our fertility struggles and it took us 4 long years of doctor appointments, tests, and two complete in vitro rounds to get her. She is truly a gift and very special person. I’m married to her awesome Daddy, Josh. We love hanging at the house, we enjoy the outdoors as well as other recreations like fishing, hunting, hiking, swimming, horseback riding, etc. He is a paramedic, most recently promoted to a chief’s position at a leading ambulance transportation company in a city a little over an hour away. I am a veterinary technician employed by a small animal hospital the next county over. Some of my hobbies include: photography (obviously), horseback riding, chicken tending, and I’m obsessed with knitting. I also love to binge-watch shows and currently my favorites are: Outlander, Grey’s Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, and Once Upon A Time.
I don’t know what I would do in life if I didn’t have my camera. It follows me everywhere; it’s what I do. After getting started with black & white film photography in high school, I knew that it was something I’d never let fall by the way-side. Photography keeps me going… Being able to frame up what God has put on this earth truly touches my heart and I am passionate about capturing the beauty and emotions of life and creating those images that make you “feel.” I love the challenge of utilizing the natural light given in a situation. My goal is to keep photos looking as natural as possible, showing the realness of life. My favorite part of digital photography is probably editing. I love bringing photos to life as I see them in my head.
I have recently discovered my love of sharing photography knowledge with others. I will chat you up if I find out you take photos! I also love helping people learn, because what good is knowledge if you don’t share it with others? I have ventured into selling my presets for mobile photography. I have always created my own presets (or editing settings that you pick and it applies the settings to your photo) but just last month (July 2019) I finally took the leap and offered a collection for sale. You can find that information under the Caryn Prouty Preset menu on the home page. I hope you’ll check them out if you’re looking to bring your mobile photos to life!
Thank you for joining me here on my little space on the internet. I do hope you get some kind of enjoyment out of reading my blog!
